Mohs surgery offers the highest cure rate for non-melanoma skin cancers like BCC. It involves removing the tumor in thin layers, each of which is examined immediately under a microscope until no cancer cells remain. This precise method is ideal for facial areas, as it allows maximum conservation of healthy tissue while ensuring full removal of the cancer.
In this patient’s case, the cancer was cleared in a single stage. The surgical area was then skillfully repaired to maintain the natural contour and movement of the cheek.
