Patient Story: Large Basal Cell Carcinoma on the Nose Treated with Staged Mohs Surgery and Surgical Reconstruction

A 78-year-old female patient presented with a large basal cell carcinoma (BCC) on her nose, a sensitive and highly visible location that required advanced care. Due to the size of the tumor and its proximity to delicate nasal structures, Dr. Lance Henry, double board-certified dermatologist and micrographic surgeon, and the most experienced Fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon in the region, performed Mohs micrographic surgery to ensure complete cancer removal while preserving healthy tissue.
