Exfoliating Laser Peel
Exfoliating Laser Peel is an Er: Yag 2940 nm laser for the purpose of skin peeling, resurfacing, and/or skin revitalization. The Exfoliating Laser Peel is ideal for those who want to improve fine lines, redness, pores, overall tone, or those who just want a deeper exfoliation of the skin. This Laser Peel has little downtime, with three or more treatments spaced one month apart being ideal for optimum results.
Immediately after treatment, your skin may appear slightly red and feel like a sunburn. A “sand-paper” like texture is common post treatment which indicates the skin will be sloughing off. Once the exfoliation process is done, skin appears brighter, healthier, and glowing.
The stresses and strains of everyday life take a real toll on your skin. Wrinkles, sun damage, scars, birthmarks, and pigmentation problems affect your appearance and confidence. The Laser Peel treatment can significantly improve the appearance of your skin and positively affect how you feel about your skin.
How the Laser Peel Works
The treatment lasts about a half-hour and uses a powerful dermatology laser to remove dead skin cells.
Most common skin problems are present in the first layers of dead and damaged skin, and this is what laser treatment seeks to remedy. The dead skin cells in the top layers of your face are removed. This encourages your body to begin the natural process of replacing the dead cells with fresh new ones.
The new layer of skin is typically unaffected by the condition that existed before and will be noticeably smoother and more vibrant.
The Treatment Process
It is completely safe, non-invasive, and non-surgical.
First, your face will be cleansed of oils, and a mild numbing cream is applied to reduce any discomfort during the treatment.
Next, the device is focused on the target area, casting a tight laser grid onto the skin.
The treatment feels very hot, like an intense sunburn, but your comfort is enhanced with the use of the numbing cream. The Laser Peel treatment is mild enough though for use on sensitive areas of the face that are often avoided, such as the area surrounding your eyes.
As soon as the treatment is complete, Oxygenetix Cream is smoothed over your skin. By doing this immediately, any redness or swelling is minimized and it starts you on the path of full recovery.
Recovery
The results of your Laser Peel treatment will not be immediate, but will be well worth the wait. You can resume your normal daily activities straight away.
However, you may want to avoid any important meetings or functions for the first few days. During this time of healing and rejuvenation, you will not be able to wear makeup and will be red for up to 48 hours after the treatment.
During this time, you should also be careful to protect your skin with professional-grade, broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) , specifically formulated for skin post-treatment, while it is healing and growing new, healthy cells. Wearing sunscreen daily good habit to continue going forward!
Redness or swelling may be present for up to 48 hours after the treatment, similar to an intense sunburn, but this is an individual thing and varies from person to person. After this time, sometimes up to a week later, the top layers of skin that the laser has targeted will begin to slough off, revealing the new and revitalized skin below.
Results of a laser peel
